Continuing Education

Design on the Delaware will offer two general sessions, 36 programs and 10 tours. Attendees can earn up to 20 Continuing Education Units.   Course topics include design, high performance buildings, professional practice, building technology, green schools, planning, preservation, landscapes, urban and suburban planning,  codes and zoning, and more. All programs and tours will offer CES/CEU credits. See below for more detailed information regarding continuing education requirements. To receive credits or a letter verifying attendance, you must sign in at each course attended and enter your AIA member number. If not a member of AIA, please indicate profession and enter member number if applicable. 


Architects

All sessions provide AIA/CES Continuing Education Hours with the exception of P45 Form based Zoning which is pending. States with maintatory continuing education requirements accept AIA registered courses. Please note that Delaware requires all courses be HSW approved. Architects that are not AIA members will be provided with a proof at attendance. Please read Proof of Attendance below.


Engineers

Pennsylvania now requires engineers to earn 24 CEU credits by April 1, 2012. Credit determination is the responsibility of the licensee. If audited by the State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists, the licensee must provide evidence of attendance and applicability of course for CE units. New Jersey state licensure board requires professional engineers and land surveyors to meet continuing professional competency requirements. New York state licensure board recognizes AIA as an approved continuing education provider. Landscape Architects

Courses that provide Landscape Architecture Continuing Education System (LA CES) credits are indicated. LA CES credits are accepted for licensure requirements in New Jersey and New York (HSW credits only). Pennsylvania Landscape Architecture licensure board recognizes AIA as a pre-approved continuing education course provider under subsection 15.76 of Title 49 _ Professional and Vocational Standards of the Pennsylvania State Board of Landscape Architects (49 PA Code Ch. 15) Continuing Education (as amended). Keynote speakers and professional development courses are NOT eligible for continuing education credits for Pennsylvania Licensed Landscape Architects. CEU requirements vary among states. Under the recently amended Law for PA registered architects, all Licensees will be required to obtain24 hours of continuing education, completed in accordance with the Board's regulations, beginning June 1, 2011 through May 31, 2013 as a condition of the renewal of their license for the 2013-2015 Biennial period.

Proof of Attendance

AIA Philadelphia will report attendance to AIA National and to the Landscape Architecture Continuing Education System. AIA Philadelphia will provide a certificate of attendance if requested by attendee. To request a certificate, sign in at each session and check the Certificate option. Please complete a "Request for Attendance Verification Letter" provided at registration and return it to the registration desk at the end of the conference. AIA Philadelphia will only send attendance verification letters to attendees who request them.
